Noventis strongly believes in the importance of business giving back to the community. Each year we set aside a day where we cancel all meetings, power down our laptops (and cellphones), and dedicate our time to serving local charities. While many Noventis employees give generously of their time to worthy causes, being able to participate as a team gives an extra lift to the staff, as well as the organizations who need a hand.
Over the years we have volunteered for numerous charities, including the Houston Food Bank, United Way of Greater Houston, Oregon Food Bank, and Portland Parks and Recreation to name a few. Our most recent effort was dedicated specifically to children as the Houston office partnered with Toys For Tots Houston while our Portland team linked up with Imact NW.
Each office purchased a large stash of children’s bicycles and helmets for girls and boys. We turned the bike assembly and testing process into a team building exercise where speed and agility were required but sorely lacking in many instances. Nonetheless, the outcome was a big success as dozens of new bikes were donated to local kids who would otherwise not had the means to acquire one.
Impact NW identified the Portland area recipients and even brought some of the families to the office to meet the team and receive their new bikes, further bridging a sense of community relationship. Toys For Tots awarded the bicycles to Houston area children via lottery and sent a U.S. Marine Corps member to pick them up. Did you know that Toys For Tots is directed by the US Marine Forces Reserve?
Noventis is honored to support the efforts of organizations that help enrich the communities in which we live and work. We can’t wait for our next opportunity to lend a hand.
